EMP: I See a Different World Than You Do, and it Frightens Me
Why is it that no one is paying attention to, much less doing anything about, the imminent threat of an EMP, an all-too-possible
event that could result in the deaths of some 300 million Americans?
The Threat of Destructive War
National defense is a cornerstone of national existence. Without national defense there can be no freedom, prosperity or progress. If Americans want security in today's dangerous world, then they must begin by asking a few questions: Who are America's enemies? What weapons do these enemies possess? What strategies do these enemies apply?Read more
An Aberration in Time
OPEN LETTER TO ISRAELI PRIME MINISTER BENJAMIN NETANYAHU
Dear Prime Minister Netanyahu: I write to thank you for your efforts to educate the world regarding the nuclear threat posed by Iran, and to assure you that not all Americans have lost their minds. Many Americans stand with you and the people of Israel. I hope I can speak for and with such Americans here.Read more
The Dead Man's Curve
We are at the precipice of war, and this is a call to action. While it might not come tomorrow, the threat does grow by the day as conflict between the largest and most powerful nation states becomes inevitable, driven by the impending implosion of the empire of debt accumulated by Western democracies, and by the yearning of Russia and China (and their surrogates) to escape the constraints of almost 70 years of American hegemony.Read more
The "7-11-Effect" and the Inelasticity of our Supply Chain
Few people understand how supply chains operate, how heavily we depend on them, and how critical they are to our existence—this is especially true for urban dwellers. Second only to physical security (i.e., national security) as a homeland priority, these complex and intertwined logistics systems are essential to the function to our urban centers.Read more
Living On the Edge of the Herd
Today’s Americans have convinced themselves that they are sophisticated and rational. They have education, technology and wealth. The narrow-mindedness of old has been swept away. We know the world isn’t flat, and we don’t burn witches. We believe we are enlightened, know how to live comfortably, and will avoid repeating the Dark Ages. We are, however, deluding ourselves.Read more
Do You Have Normalcy Bias? Most likely, yes...
Normalcy Bias refers to a mental state people enter when facing a disaster. It causes people to underestimate both the possibility of a disaster occurring and its possible effects. This may result in situations where people fail to adequately prepare for a disaster, and on a larger scale, the failure of governments to include the populace in its disaster preparations.Read more
The Outbreak of Wars from Financial Crisis
The financial crisis of 2008 leads to a dangerous passage. As history clearly shows, widespread financial crisis often leads to political crisis and violence. From thence come wars, the leveling of cities, the fall of governments, the spread of famine and disease. Today we live in the so-called atomic age. Nuclear weapons are being manufactured by several nations. Put these together with widespread economic distress, a rising tide of anti-American hate, an emerging bloc of dictator states, and you have a formula for calamity.Read more
The Global Financial Crisis Instability, Social Disorder and International Realignment
Did the financial crisis that began in September 2008 ever end? Today’s economic tensions threaten to break the illusion of global peace and good order that has prevailed since the fall of Communism. When banks fail and markets are in disarray, national and ethnic tensions are likely to intensify.Read more
Bunker Billionaires: To Them, We Are Potential Gooks in the Wire
The pejorative slang term
gook was widely used by GIs during the Vietnam war to describe their Communist combatants, who would often wind up
dead in the wire as they attacked American fire bases. Now,
gook can be re-purposed to mean you and me, or any unwashed commoner who might
desperately seek entry to the apocalyptic survival bunker for billionaires that Forbes Magazine recently profiled online.
Such a bunker will house an elite few in five-star luxury, and will presumably be defended to the death against the outside world.
I cannot begin to tell you how wrong this approach is.
The Decline of American Power, Military Decrepitude and CIA Incompetence
The United States has been the strongest nation in history, militarily and economically. Perhaps Russia, with its Strategic Rocket Forces, can match the Americans in nuclear firepower; but in conventional warfare, especially at sea and in the air, American superiority is manifest. No power has ever enjoyed so many advantages. Many assume that the United States is an invincible, protected country that cannot be hurt.Read more
